The event, which took place on April 20th, was attended by the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Social Affairs, Minister of Rural Development and Community Housing, Eng. Mariano ASSANAMI Sabino and the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals, Francisco Monteiro.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In his speech, the Vice Prime Minister highlighted that this ceremony of granting a license to the company to carry out its research activities is a very important step for Timor-Leste.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“We are a small country, but God has given us riches in mines, gas, minerals and other resources, however we still live with many needs and with minimal employment opportunities. Our young people need to go out and work in foreign countries, and that is a problem that we need to solve”, said Mariano ASSANAMI Sabino, Vice Prime Minister.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In this context, he congratulated the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals and the National Minerals Authority and the National Petroleum Authority (ANM-ANP), for the efforts made to date to identify natural resources both on land and at the sea, with the aim of attracting the attention of companies to invest in research that led to exploitation, thus enabling the creation of jobs for young people.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe granting of this license legalizes the company’s activity to carry out its research in the designated areas, thus providing employment opportunities for the local population, especially young people. It is essential that local authorities and the population cooperate and work together with the company to ensure that its activities are carried out effectively\u201d, concluded the Governor.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Both the Prime Minister and the IX Constitutional Government will support this activity with the hope that it will be successful. Prospecting and research will be carried out in the Pante-Makasar, Nitibe, Oesilu and Pasabe Sub-Regions.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The ceremony was attended by 18 Village Head , 63 Sub-Village Chiefs, RAEOA Authorities, Religious, Civil and Military Authorities.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
