MDRHC Minister Delivers 20 Head of Cattle to the Community of Lela-Ufe Suco

The Minister for Rural Development and Community Housing, Eng. Mariano Assanami Sabino, accompanied by the President of the Authority of the Special Administrative Region of Oé-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA), delivered 20 head of cattle to the community of Lela-Ufe, with the aim of supporting cattle breeding and fattening.

At the ceremony, 20 head of cattle were symbolically handed over; however, in accordance with the established plan, the initiative is expected to reach a total of 100 head of cattle. To this end, the MDRHC Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of 100 cattle pens, which are planned to be built in the aforementioned suco.

In his address, the MDRHC Minister expressed his appreciation to the President of RAEOA and its structures for the strong collaboration that made it possible to formalise the handover of the cattle to local farming communities, enabling them to raise and fatten the animals and thereby generate income and improve the local economy.

“In the past, Oé-Cusse had a large number of cattle; therefore, in the future we need to raise even more, so that we can strengthen the economy of the communities in this suco,” the MDRHC Minister stated.

The Minister also suggested that the Regional Secretary for Agricultural Affairs continue working closely with the livestock-raising communities, carrying out regular visits to vaccinate the animals, so that they grow faster, remain healthy and can later be supplied to the market as healthy, high-quality cattle.

The visit was attended by the President of RAEOA, the ZEDOA Coordinator, the Chief of Staff of the MDRHC, the Director-General for Rural Development, the Commander of the PNTL-RAEOA, Regional Secretaries of RAEOA, and members of the local community.
