๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข,๐๐/๐๐/๐๐๐๐: The Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Social Affairs, Minister for Rural Development and Community Housing, Eng. Mariano ASSANAMI Sabino, was present at the presentation of the research report on Martial Arts and Rituals, prepared by the NGO Belun and partners, at CNE meeting room, in Kolmera.
In his intervention, the Vice Prime Minister thanked for the NGO Belun and other partners for preparing this research and report, as the data greatly helps the government to take measures regarding for the topic, and always aiming for the best youth of Timor-Leste .
Talking about martial arts and rituals is talking about young people, so this research, and report, is an important working tool so that the government can define its political decisions based on the available data. The government, through the KRAM, is making efforts to fully survey the groups and register them, so that, in conjunction with all available data, it can define martial arts as a sport. That is the objective”, said the Vice Prime Minister.
Currently, the government has suspended martial and ritual arts activities for the purpose of registering itโs a members and evaluating their performance, and upon completion of the KRAM, it will present itโs report to the Council of Ministers to make a decision.
Young people that involved in these groups need discipline, assurance of peace and stability, respect for others’ freedom of movement, not considering harming others and not taking the lives of others.
โDuring the struggle for national liberation, many young people involved in clandestine Martial Arts and Ritual organizations contributed to the liberation of our homeland, therefore, today’s young people need to take responsibility in their time or in their generation and thus contribute to liberation. of the people, becoming the heroes of today and the future for Timor-Lesteโ, recalled the ruler.
โFor all person needs to prepare themselves in three dimensions: physical, spiritual and mental, to become an energetic, respectful and resilient person, so, in all these dimensions, young people will shape their character to become useful people for societyโ, concluded by the Vice Prime Minister.
