DILI,14/04/2025: The Cabinet of Inspection and Audit (GIA), of the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Housing (MDRHC), chaired and organised regular quarterly meetings with the State Inspector General and public sector auditors, held at the Ministry of Finance Audit.
This quarterly meeting with the theme “The profile of inspectors and auditors will become a fundamental weight that will contribute to ensuring good management quality for the functioning of public institutions”.
In this meeting, the Minister of MDRHC, Eng. Mariano ASSANAMI Sabino, as Interim Prime Minister, said that after state building, entering nation building, during 24 years of independence, the State of Timor-Leste has managed to establish four important institutions to strengthen good governance, such as, State Inspector General (IJE), Anti-Corruption Commission (KAK), FKFP and Public Protection Commission (FKFP) Human Rights Justice (HRJJ).
Each of these four institutions will play its role in strengthening the state institutions established to ensure good governance in public administration institutions to perform public service functions.
In addition, the Minister of MDRHC asked the inspectors and internal auditors to carry out their functions properly to comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, plans and procedures. He also asked them to uphold standards and integrity in all decisions made in order to strengthen confidence.
In addition, internal inspectors and auditors must respect obligations of secrecy and confidentiality and not disclose internal and privileged information. In addition, auditors should not interfere in the analysis or formulation of the audit opinion.
Meanwhile, the MDRHC Minister asked the inspectors and auditors to learn more according to the evolution of the world now, so that everyone has a deep knowledge to work professionally according to the standards and laws in force.
