𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐞-𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐧𝐨 (𝐑𝐀𝐄𝐎𝐀).

𝐎𝐞c𝐮𝐬𝐞,𝟏𝟗/𝟎𝟒/𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒:The Government held a license granting ceremony for the company Iron Fortune Pty, to carry out prospecting and research for metallic mineral resources in the Special Autonomous Region of Oe-Cusse Ambeno (RAEOA). The event, which took place on April 20th, was attended by the Vice Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for Social Affairs, Minister of Rural Development and Community Housing, Eng. Mariano ASSANAMI Sabino and the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals, Francisco Monteiro.

In his speech, the Vice Prime Minister highlighted that this ceremony of granting a license to the company to carry out its research activities is a very important step for Timor-Leste.

“We are a small country, but God has given us riches in mines, gas, minerals and other resources, however we still live with many needs and with minimal employment opportunities. Our young people need to go out and work in foreign countries, and that is a problem that we need to solve”, said Mariano ASSANAMI Sabino, Vice Prime Minister.

In this context, he congratulated the Minister of Petroleum and Minerals and the National Minerals Authority and the National Petroleum Authority (ANM-ANP), for the efforts made to date to identify natural resources both on land and at the sea, with the aim of attracting the attention of companies to invest in research that led to exploitation, thus enabling the creation of jobs for young people.

“The granting of this license legalizes the company’s activity to carry out its research in the designated areas, thus providing employment opportunities for the local population, especially young people. It is essential that local authorities and the population cooperate and work together with the company to ensure that its activities are carried out effectively”, concluded the Governor.

Both the Prime Minister and the IX Constitutional Government will support this activity with the hope that it will be successful. Prospecting and research will be carried out in the Pante-Makasar, Nitibe, Oesilu and Pasabe Sub-Regions.

The ceremony was attended by 18 Village Head , 63 Sub-Village Chiefs, RAEOA Authorities, Religious, Civil and Military Authorities.
